KRISTY MCNICHOL
Kristy McNichol dominated the 1980s movie scene. She was best known for the movies Little Darlings, Only When I Laugh, and the TV sitcom Empty Nest. The actress was also part of the TV drama Family that earned her two Emmy Awards. McNichol got credits for being one of the biggest teen stars of that era.
She was usually seen as a guest on different TV shows and a part of big-screen projects. However, come 2001, McNichol officially retired from the business. She left a successful acting career and chose to play the biggest role that she wanted—herself. Though she could not deny that being an actress had been the best thing that happened to her, she now chose her own happiness. McNichol then taught acting at a private school in Los Angeles and devoted her time to charity work.
